Good morning! This post almost didn’t happen. I had a terrible day Friday, everything I touched turned to poop! I went to bed without a card, and laid awake until 3 am. It really was THAT kind of day for me!
But I woke up this morning (and that is always a good thing, right?) at 6:45 am. That’s 3.5 hours sleep, so you know the first thing I did was make coffee! Then I went into my craft room, which is still a disaster because of the day yesterday. I cleared off a 12×12 space on my work table, reached behind me, grabbed a stampset and was determined to make a card with whatever set I grabbed.
Hmmm Crackle Paint?! I think this is my 2nd time using it. Now what to do, what to do! Wednesday I shared a sunflower card using the Daisy Punch. I decided to make another card using the same punch but in a different way.
Since my new Medium Daisy Punch is due to arrive next week, I had to make do with the original. First I punched 6 Daisies from Pumpkin Pie card stock. Next I trimmed the tips of the petals of 2 of them. Then I took 2 more and trimmed a bit further down. Repeated with the 3rd pair. I was working with scrap that had a crease or 2 from the envelope punch board but simply stacked them and ran them through my Big Shot. Since my plates are well loved, the petals received a nice texture, and also the fibers were loosened up so it was easy to curve them just a bit.
But before that, I sponged Cajun Craze ink to give them even more texture. I did stamp the center from the Daisy Delight set and punched using 1/2 inch punch. I layered my flowers off setting them and the center used a dimensional.
Not having ribbon, I cut a sliver of Pumpkin Pie to give the illusion of ribbon. The sentiment is from Itty Bitty Greetings and stamped onto Very Vanilla and cut using a stitched oval die. I added 2 Shaded Spruce leaves cut using the leaf punch. The card came together so quickly this morning, especially after yesterday. I guess my MS brain needed a rest!
I have other crafty news. This week I saw a really nice DollarTree video on YouTube and made my own version. It’s the perfect gift for my niece, she should get it on Monday. I love making things, but don’t always have a place for what I make, but this really is perfect for her!
I don’t want to get too wordy, this post took longer to write than the card was to make! I hope you are inspired to use punches in other ways. See you Wednesday, have a great weekend!
